Pop Captions Animator - Animated Captions for Video in Blender
Pop Captions Animator
This is a tool to add animated captions to your short-form videos, using Blender.
It uses a combination of Python scripting and Geometry Nodes, so to create an easy way to animate the text, using a User Script. (check the video above for mode in-depth look)
This offers a great alternative to manual animating, or subscription services, though, it won't recognize speech automatically... Can't do this in Blender... yet 😅
But for what it is, it's really useful - you just have to input the text and the time stamps. (the video shows the full workflow)
You don't have to import anything from the .blend file to another scene, I've set it up for editing. Just make sure you save a copy, so that you don't work on the base file.
Important limitations:
- Every line has to be at most 5 words.
- The maximum line count is 100.
For short video (< 60 sec.) this is more than enough. Once Blender 4.0 comes out, I'll update it so those limitations are no longer there.
You'll get a ready-to-use .blend file, containing all the controls for captions animation.
