Stylized Hair Edit Node for Blender
This Node Group can be used with Blenders Hair Curves.
It is an alternative to the traditional stylized hair workflow, where we edit curves in Edit Mode. With the aid of this node, we can edit them in the Sculpt Mode of the Hair Curves, giving us a more artistic input to hair grooming.
v2 UPDATE:
I wasn't happy with the previous version, so I have reworked it.
No more going in the node tree!
No more duplicating node setting!
One modifier for all strands, but independent settings for each one!
Here is a quick showcase. 👇
Additionally, I have added a simple script to hide and show values inside of the modifier, since it can get very long with all the settings.
To make it work, select whatever check marks you want to show and run the script. Unchecking them and running the script will hide the values. (see the video)
It's a dumb workaround, since we still can't add drop-down menus inside of the geometry node modifiers, but it works.
Just make sure the name of the modifier and node tree stays "Stylized Hair Edit v2".
If you really need to change the name, go in the script and find-and-replace the name with your new. You can find that option in the side panel of the text editor workspace (Ctrl+T).
As usual, add the node to your Asset Browser and inside your new file, open the script file from the Text Editor inside Blender.
Also, don't forget, before you start grooming, name the UV map from the Output Attributes inside the modifier and select a material.

Change Log:
03-08-2023 update v2.1:
- I've added the UV map generation from the Stylized Hair PRO to this version.
You can now use the UV coordinates from a "Texture Coordinate" node or a "UV Map" node in the Shader Editor.
If you convert the geometry to a mesh, the UV map (named "Hair UV Map") will be stored in the "Object Data Properties" of the new mesh. You can then export it to a game engine or another program of your choice.
A .blend file containing a Geometry Nodes asset, used for stylized hair creation.
